Servicing the rollers, track, and hardware does not change the glass or the frame's rated construction. When impact glass has to be replaced we match the correct laminated panel for your door. We do not issue or certify wind ratings ourselves - we make the door operate and seal the way it was built to.
Why does my impact door need heavier rollers than my neighbor's regular slider?
Laminated impact glass is thick and heavy, so the panel weighs far more than a standard slider and needs roller assemblies built to carry that load. Standard-duty wheels under it would just flatten out fast, so we fit the heavy-duty rollers the door was designed for.
